RAN Helicopter Flight Vietnam

The presentation will be on the RAN Helicopter Flight Vietnam and their service with the US Army’s 145th Assualt helicopter Company - the EMUS of “Get the Bloody Job Done” fame!!

The presentation will be given by CMDR Max Speedy DSC RANR.
Together with Captain Bob Rae RAN R’td, CMDR Speedy has recently published a History of the Royal Australian Navy Helicopter Flight Vietnam and he will talk about the book and his experiences in 1968/69 whilst serving with the RAN Helicopter Flight in Vietnam.

Max Speedy joined the RAN in 1962 and retired in 1982. He has also worked in Town Planning, had a stint as a Municipal Councillor/Mayor, undertaken many community enterprises including Ambulance, Board Director-ships and so on! Now he has returned to his first love, the NAVY.

Max Speedy is also “Open Day” Co-Ordinator at HMAS CERBERUS this October.
