"Norm Rivett - the undisputed history encyclopedia of Garden Island and in particular the chapel."
"Norm has a passion for the Island's history and a particularly love of the chapel. His deep feeling for the chapel comes through in this work.
An uplifting read."
"... Norm has, with dignity, remarkable understanding and insight captured the essence of the chapel from both a human and historical perspective."
A new book from Norm Rivett deals with the history of the chapel on Garden island, Sydney.
The chapel's use dates back to 1902 and it has been developed and enhanced many times since then; so much so that the chapel is a most historic place. As Norm himself says in the Preface to the book, "A great amount of Naval history is enshined within this modest, homely Chapel and much that is worthy of explanation, which is the purpose of this book".
