NAVAL HISTORICAL SOCIETY-WA CHAPTER

EVENT DETAILS:

The talk is being given by Gerry Westenberg who has built over 100 model ships over the past 40 years, including many Australian and British warships. The exhibition of Gerry’s models: Naval Sea Power in Miniature, is currently in the Shipwrecks Museum in Fremantle.

Gerry said: “The most challenging model has been that of the wreck of HMAS Sydney (II) depicted on November 20th, 1941, a few days after she sank. Building this model and seeing the utter destruction of the ship, made me realise how much punishment she received and how heroic the crew must have been”.

To attend the talk, YOU MUST pre-register with the Secretary, Dr Heather Rogers: secretary.nhs.wa@gmail.com, or Mobile: 0407-912-781

Note: Parking is at the Claremont Tennis Club and in the Public Car Park on Davies Road. There is a $5 Admin fee, and a cash bar before and after the talk.
